Good Faith Estimate

Good Faith Estimate & The No Surprises Act
Beginning January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act requires all health care providers, including mental health providers, to give clients who are uninsured or not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for services. This is called a Good Faith Estimate.

At UpWord Counseling, we value transparency and want you to feel informed about the cost of your care.
-
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your services may cost.
-
You can request a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a session, or at any time during your care.
-
If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above the Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge.
-
Be sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
For more information about your rights under the No Surprises Act, you can visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
