Education
Mia Baumgartner, M.A., LPC-Associate, holds a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from the Univeristy of Denver and a Bachelor's from St. Mary's University. An LPC Associate is a therapist who has completed a master’s degree in a counseling-related field and is working under the supervision of an LPC Supervisor to gain the experience required for full licensure.
Training
Mia is trained in evidence-based therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness practices to provide comprehensive support to our clients. As a 200 hour yoga instructor, she is also trained to teach breath work, relaxation techniques, and meditation.
Experience
Mia has experience treating adolescents, adults, and couples. In addition to her experience treating a wide variety of conditions such as anxiety and depression, she has clinical and research experience in traumatic brain injury. Mia also has experience with addiction recovery and supporting those struggling with substance abuse (and their loved ones) with compassion and understanding.
Specializations
Mia specializes in supporting teen and adult clients with a range of presenting problems such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship stressors, major life or career transitions, grief and loss, self-harm, substance use conditions, and trauma. Ultimately, Mia strives to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment for individuals to be themselves and explore their greatest potential.
